Terms of Use
Last updated: July 14, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the ClipForge macOS application and this website. By using ClipForge, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
ClipForge is a video editor for macOS focused on short-form vertical content. The app is free to use. Video rendering, caption transcription and the MCP server run on your device; optional account features (project sync, content libraries) are provided as an online service.
2. License
Subject to these Terms and the Mac App Store terms under which the app is distributed, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use ClipForge on Apple-branded devices you own or control.
3. Your content
You keep all rights to the media you import and the videos you export. You are responsible for having the necessary rights to any content you use in your projects and for how you publish exported videos on third-party platforms (such as TikTok, Instagram or YouTube) under their respective terms.
4. Content libraries
The bundled UGC clip and music libraries are provided for use within videos you create with ClipForge, including commercial promotional videos. You may not extract, resell or redistribute library assets as standalone files or as part of another content library. Music tracks are curated under verified free licenses; attribution details, where applicable, are shown in the app. See our Licenses & Acknowledgements page for details.
5. AI features
ClipForge exposes editing tools to AI clients you choose to connect (for example, Claude Code) through a local MCP server. Your use of those AI clients is governed by their own terms, and you are responsible for the edits and outputs produced through them. AI output can be imperfect — review videos before publishing.
6. Acceptable use
- Don't use ClipForge to create content that is unlawful, infringing, or deceptive (including videos presented as real endorsements when they are not).
- Don't attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data.
- Don't abuse the content library service (for example, bulk scraping of assets).
7. Availability and changes
We may add, change or remove features, and may suspend or discontinue online components (such as sync or libraries) with reasonable notice where practical. Your locally stored projects and exports remain yours regardless.
8. Disclaimer and liability
ClipForge is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Termination
You may stop using ClipForge and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to online features for breach of these Terms.
